php_pdo.dll and php_xsl.dll
php_pdo.dll and php_xsl.dll Can these two items work together? php_pdo.dll and php_xsl.dll. I have a php server and it currently hosts a couple sites - one of which requires the php_xsl.dll to work. I am trying to install Piwik, but it says it needs php_pdo.dll and php_pdo_mysql.dll - whenever I add these to the php.ini file, it crashes both the piwiki site and the site that uses the php_xsl file. Can anyone help with this? I get the cgi / fastcgi has stopped working error, but so far I can't turn up anything on why... Okay - I tried turning off the php_xsl.dll (commenting out the extension) and it still crashed, neither site would work - so I don't think it is related to a conflict, but can anyone help me get the pdo working

php_memcache.dll for PHP 5.3 Hello all, I recently setup a server using the latest version of XAMPP for Windows. With it came PHP 5.3. I'm now looking for a memcache.dll file that works with PHP 5.3 I've used some of the previous .dll files and recieved an error message: "PHP Startup: memcache: Unable t initialize module. Module compiled with module API=20060613 PHP compiled with module api=20090626 These options need to match" Any links to a PHP 5.3 memcache.dll file would be greatly appreciated. PHP - Search a filename for php
PHP - Search a filename for php Hello! I wan't to search a filename for example like this string: $filetype = "file.php.jpg"; And then i want to search if it finds php in that string, then return false; Now if a filename is named php-logo.jpg i don't want it to be denied. Maybe we should consider searching for .php. in the string? You might want to reconsider the return value. Instead of returning false if it has PHP, why not return true if it does? What about this? function containsPhp($string) { return strstr($string, 'php'); } Then you could do this $filetype = "file.php.jpg"; // does it contain php in it? var_dump(containsPhp($filetype)); UPDATE If you know for certain it will always appear as '.php.', then simply change the second argument of the strstr() function. If you want the file extension, consider the following function. function getFileExtension
Is PHP PEAR included with php?
Is PHP PEAR included with php? I am looking over the php installation on my local PC via Xampp and I notice in the php.ini file for the include directoy, it has includes for unix but PEAR for Windows include_path = ".:/php/includes" but for windows it has include_path = ".;C:\webserver\php\pear\" So I am wanting to know, is PEAR included in a default version of PHP? OR is it just an add-on that can be used? All the special classes you see on php.net are those built into PHP or do they use PEAR as well? Just trying to find out more about pear, like if it is something I use already without noticing I am using it or if it is something not php standard and I would have to intentionally use it When compiling PHP from the sources, you have these options : $ ./configure --help Usage: configure [options] [host
Remove .php extension with PHP
Remove .php extension with PHP Hello fellows! I could use some help here. I'm using this to fix my URL but I can't figure out how to remove the .php extension. The URL looks like this now: http://mydomain.com/page.php/foo/123/bar/456 function decode_URL_parameters() { $path = @$_SERVER['PATH... been discussed on SO before. This answer should have what you're looking for. You can do this using PHP alone, you need to dig into the Apache module mod_rewrite. If you're serving via Apache, you'll want to look at mod_rewrite. Using mod_rewrite, you can modify how URLs are mapped to your application's actual end-points. For your example, you'll want something like this: RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^/?page/(.*)$ page.php/$1 [L] This page has some other simple examples. You probably configured your webserver to let php handle all requests for files having the .php extension. Let's

PHP templates - with PHP
PHP templates - with PHP Hi, What's the most elegant templating (preferably in pure PHP!) solution you've seen? Specifically i'm interested in handling: Detecting in a repeating block whether it's the first or last element Easy handling of odd/even cases, like a zebra striped table, or similar Other modulos logic, where you'd do something every n'th time. I'm looking for something that makes this less of a pain: <?php $persons = array('John', 'Jack', 'Jill', 'Jason'); ?> <?php $i = 0; ?> <?php if (isset($persons)): ?> <ul> <?php foreach ($persons as $name): ?> <li class="<?= ($i++ % 2 === 0) ? Filter PHP's $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']
Filter PHP's $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] I need to filter the unreliable $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] varialbe. Is this a good approach: function filterPhpSelf($str) { $phpself = basename(__FILE__); $str = substr($str, 0, strpos($str,$phpself)) . $phpself; return $unsafeStr; } where $str is $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']? 1) Your code will raise an error if run. 2) $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] is not unsafe. Unsafe use of it is unsafe. Yes, that will do. Though you will want to change: return $unsafeStr; to return $str
